hardening and thickening of the walls of arterioles. adj., arteriolosclerot´ic., adj.
hyaline arteriolosclerosis
a variety with homogeneous pink hyaline thickening of vessel walls, associated with benign nephrosclerosis.
hyperplastic arteriolosclerosis
a variety characterized by concentrated thickening with progressive narrowing of the lumina, sometimes associated with malignant hypertension, nephrosclerosis, and scleroderma.
