laryngeal paralysis paralysis of one of the laryngeal muscles, usually because of a lesion of the vagus nerve or the recurrent laryngeal nerve; seen in disorders such as Avellis syndrome, Jackson syndrome, and Vernet syndrome. Called also laryngoparalysis and laryngoplegia.
