swimming pool granuloma a chronic granulomatous bacterial infection caused by contamination of an abrasion in a swimming pool due to presence of Mycobacterium marinum. Histologically and clinically, this condition resembles tumerculosis; it tends to heal spontaneously within a few months to two years.
