hemacytometer (he″mә-si-tomĀ“ә-tәr)   a device used for manual blood counts, consisting of a counting chamber of uniform depth that is covered by a ruled cover glass so that the region under each ruled square contains a known volume of the diluted specimen. Called also hemocytometer.
