metoclopramide (met″o-klo-prah´mīd) a dopamine receptor antagonist and prokinetic agent that stimulates gastric motility, used as the hydrochloride salt as an antiemetic, an aid in gastrointestinal radiology and intestinal intubation, and in treatment of gastroparesis and gastroesophageal reflux; administered orally, intravenously, or intramuscularly.
