inferior cerebellar peduncle a large bundle of nerve fibers serving to connect the medulla oblongata and spinal cord with the cerebellum; it courses along the lateral border of the fourth ventricle and turns posteriorly into the cerebellum. Formerly called caudal cerebellar peduncle.
