Vincent angina (vă-sah´) gingivostomatitis caused by extension to the oral mucosa of necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis, characterized by ulceration, pseudomembrane, and odor, with lesions involving the palate or pharynx as well as the oral mucosa. Called also necrotizing ulcerative gingivostomatitis.
