Albright syndrome
(awl´brit)
Albright-McCune-Sternberg syndrome
a group of symptoms of unknown cause, including distortion of bone with fibrous changes in the bone marrow spaces, brownish
pigmentation of the skin, and precocious puberty in females. The bones may become bowed or shortened, resulting in susceptibility
to fractures and difficulty in walking. Treatment is concerned with the resulting fractures and deformities; corrective orthopedic
surgery is often indicated. See also fibrous dysplasia of bone.
