infection with amebae, especially Entamoeba histolytica.
amebiasis cutis
cutaneous manifestation of amebiasis, usually in the form of painful ulcers or verrucous plaques, principally seen in patients
with active intestinal or hepatic disease. It is generally an extension of infection elsewhere, either spontaneously or following
abdominal surgery.
hepatic amebiasis
amebic hepatitis.
invasion of liver parenchyma by trophozoites of Entamoeba histolytica, leading to an amebic liver abscess. Called also amebic hepatitis.
