purpura
(purĀ“pu-rә)
any of a group of conditions characterized by ecchymoses or other small hemorrhages in the skin, mucous membranes, or serosal
surfaces; causes include blood disorders, vascular abnormalities, and trauma.
any of several conditions similar to the traditional purpura group, which may be caused by decreased platelet counts, platelet
abnormalities, vascular defects, or reactions to drugs.
