quadriceps (kwod´rĭ-seps) having four heads; said of muscles. quadriceps setting exercise
an isometric exercise to strengthen muscles needed for ambulation. The patient is instructed to contract the quadriceps muscle while at the same
time elevating the heel and pushing the knee toward the mat.
