resuscitation
(re-sus″ĭ-ta´shәn)
restoration to life or consciousness of one apparently dead, or whose respirations had stopped; see also artificial respiration.
fluid resuscitation
the correction of fluid volume imbalances, especially in patients with burn injuries.
mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
a method of artificial respiration in which the rescuer covers the patient's mouth with her or his own mouth and exhales vigorously to inflate the patient's
lungs.
