United States Adopted Name(USAN)
a nonproprietary designation for any compound used as a drug, established by negotiation between the manufacturer of the compound
and a nomenclature committee known as the USAN Council, which is sponsored jointly by the American Medical Association, the
American Pharmaceutical Association, and The United States Pharmacopeial Convention.
