(ne´vәs)
pl. ne´vi
a circumscribed malformation of the skin, or sometimes the oral mucosa, not due to external causes; the excess (or deficiency)
of tissue may involve epidermal, connective tissue, adnexal, nervous, or vascular elements. Most are discolored, pink or red
or dark; they may appear on any part of the skin, may vary in size and thickness, and may occur either in groups or alone.
