salmon patch a common type of pink or skin-colored nevus flammeus seen in newborns, usually on the forehead or the nape of the neck. This type usually disappears within the first year of life, in contrast to an elevated hemangioma, such as a port-wine stain, which persists. The type on the nape of the neck is popularly called a stork bite.
