dextroamphetamine (dek″stro-am-fetĀ“ә-mēn) the dextrorotatory isomer of amphetamine, having a more conspicuous stimulant effect on the central nervous system than the racemic form of amphetamine; used as the sulfate salt in the treatment of narcolepsy and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Abuse of this drug may lead to dependence.
