endarteritis (end-ahr″tә-riĀ“tis) inflammation of the tunica intima of an artery; called also endoarteritis. endarteritis obliterans
a form in which the lumina of the smaller vessels become narrowed or obliterated as a result of proliferation of the tissue
of the intimal layer. See also arteriosclerosis obliterans.
