cyanmethemoglobin
(si″an-met-heĀ“mo-glo″bin)
a tightly bound complex of methemoglobin with the cyanide ion. The standard method of hemoglobinometry (measuring hemoglobin content) is determination of the amount of this compound after it is produced quantitatively from oxyhemoglobin,
deoxyhemoglobin, carboxyhemoglobin, or methemoglobin (it cannot be produced from sulfhemoglobin).
