cataract
(katīә-rakt)
opacity of the lens or lens capsule of the eye; the great majority of cases are what are called “senile cataracts,” and are apparently a part of the aging process
of the human body. In some cases, cataracts result from injury to the eye, exposure to great heat or radiation, or inherited
factors. Blurred and dimmed vision are often the first symptoms, and continued clouding of the lens may cause double vision.
adj., cataracītous., adj.
