Brand name: Midol TeenPronounced: MY-dawl Generic ingredients: Acetaminophen, Pamabrom Other brand name: Women's Tylenol Menstrual Relief What this drug is used forThis type of Midol relieves menstrual symptoms such as cramps, headaches, backaches, muscle aches and pains, bloating, and weight gain caused by water retention. Unlike regular Midol Menstrual Formula, this product contains no caffeine, which can cause nervousness, or pyrilamine, which can make you drowsy. It is available only in caplet form. Women's Tylenol contains the same active ingredients as Midol Teen, in the same amounts. How should you take this medication?The usual dosage is 2 caplets with water every 6 hours, as needed (4 to 6 hours for Women's Tylenol). Do not take more than 8 caplets a day. Special warnings about this medicationDo not use these products for more than 10 days. If pain lasts longer or gets worse, new symptoms develop, or you have redness or swelling, stop taking this medication and call your doctor immediately. Not for use in children under 12. Possible food and drug interactions when taking this medicationIf you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks per day, check with your doctor about using these products.
