When You're Feeling Better Even after you feel better, continue to visit your doctor for checkups. If you're taking medications, don't stop until you're told to do so. Certain medications need to be reduced gradually. Others may need to be continued for a period of time to help prevent the depression from coming back. If you notice signs that depression is returning, ask for help right away. For More Information Your local hospital or mental health clinic can be a good source of information about depression.
