Benylin Cough Suppressant Expectorant temporarily relieves cough due to the minor throat and bronchial irritation that occurs with the common cold. It also helps loosen and thin mucus, making it easier to bring up with a cough.
This product comes as a liquid.
You may take a dose every 4 hours. Do not take more than 6 doses each 24 hours.
* ADULTS
For adults and children 12 years and over, the usual dose is 4 teaspoonfuls.
* CHILDREN
Age 6 to 12 years
The usual dose is 2 teaspoonfuls.
Age 2 to 6 years
The usual dose is 1 teaspoonful.
Under age 2
Consult a doctor.
* STORAGE
Store at room temperature.
Do not use this product for a chronic cough due to smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, or for a cough that produces excessive phlegm, unless your doctor advises it.
Check with your doctor if a cough lasts more than 1 week, tends to come back, or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache. A lingering cough could signal a serious condition.
Do not use Benylin Cough Suppressant Expectorant within 2 weeks of taking a drug classified as an MAO inhibitor, such as the antidepressants Nardil and Parnate
